ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
During undergraduate and graduate studies in psychology at the University of
California, Berkeley and Santa Cruz, in the 1960s, Stan Smith gradually realized
that a true understanding of human nature requires a spiritual psychology. He
sought this through a Western form of meditation that he has taught for thirty-five
years. The principles illuminated in this book are based on experiences with
his students. He currently directs meditation training centers in the San Francisco
Bay Area and Los Angeles. He resides in Northern California and is an avid hiker
and painter.
